Can you believe it -- another Austin Car Show has come and gone!
Unlike last year (ice storm), the weather was GREAT and was not a problem for getting cars into – and out of the show.
A great big “Thanks” goes out to everyone who participated in what is always a huge effort and a wonderful gathering of the Donuts, their friends and family over a four day period. . While there are lots of improvements that we will consider for next year, this was a great Donut Gang weekend thanks to those who showed up, entering their cars, helped out, and came to be with their Donut Gang Buddies at the show and at dinner Saturday night. We had approximately 23 cars displayed including guests. There were 65 or so folks for dinner on Saturday night at Threadgills, and many, many Donuts who received single and multiple awards. A very special thanks goes out to Ron and Linda who made the big effort to get their new 49 Chevy truck completed and down to Austin from Harper, Texas in time for the show. This was the debut of their new truck, and what a GREAT “coming out” event it was! Their efforts were well rewarded as they were a three-award winner - - for best interior, best in class and best use of color!!!! Way to go Ron and Linda
A Big,
Big, “Thanks Again” goes to Jim Greene for shouldering the Donut Gang "Prez"
duties on this multi-day event! Jim never let it get to him and was always
there to help out who ever needed it over the weekend. Several of the Donuts
showed up to help get things loaded up in the trailer and then set up at the
show - - and at least six or more stayed way late on the last night of the show
to help get the display items loaded back into the trailer after the hall was
emptied.
It looks like
2008 will be another GREAT year of friendships and Hot Rodding for the Donut
Gang of Austin - can't wait !
