Friday was one of those "Don't look for Art" days, but those of us who made the trek down South to Vintage Air were treated to both a nice ride through the Texas Hill Country, and an incredible gathering of hot rods at Vintage Air.
Tony led the way in his "So Fine" coupe (I love it without the hood sides), Roy brought out Elvira (I bet she feels neglected!), Dave Berry was in his '39, Scootin' Newton cruised in his sedan with Dick Darnell as his co-pilot ( I forgot to ask Dick about the Nomad), Maurice Allen cranked up his fine F-100, Maurice's pal Brent Harwood in his F-100, and me in the Thunderchicken. We picked up Jimmy Fingers in Blanco driving his wild El Camino.
The Vintage Air gathering is like any of the "great" hot rod get togethers.....it just keeps getting bigger! The Bar-B-Q was real good as usual, and the weather held out until most everybody was on the way home.
This is still right after the Lone Star Round Up on
my favorite Hot Rod event list.
I hope you enjoyed whatever you were doing.
